We present a multiscale design system (MDS) for fatigue life prediction of composite materials and structures. The system is based on the reduced order spatial homogenization, adaptive cycle block integration, and identification of fine-scale material parameters from experimental data. Fatigue is modeled as a multiscale space-time problem. The reduced order homogenization is used for spatial upscaling (or coarse graining). The cycle block scheme, which estimates the rate of material degradation from a single load cycle and then adaptively projects it over n cycles, is used for temporal upscaling. The MDS has been seamlessly integrated in ABAQUS, and a graphical user interface has been developed.
