ABSTRACT
The aim of this work is the simulation of an in-duct injection system that operates at low temperatures using hydrated lime at practical conditions, performed by a commercial software package denoted as gPROMS for solving the conservation equations with the introduction of the proposed kinetic expressions for the Ca(OH)2 system, in order to compare two mechanistic approaches applied to the desulfurization kinetics: considering only the sulfation reaction or both gas-solid reactions that take place simultaneously, sulfation and carbonation.
