AIMS AND SCOPE

The principal aim of the International Journal on Energy for a Clean Environment is to describe, compare and evaluate new and innovative technologies, which maximise energy conversion while minimizing undesirable emissions. Both academic and applied contributions to the Journal are acceptable, but papers from industry and end users in general are also welcome. The Journal deals with interconnected themes covering the reduction of local and global environment degrading emissions and aims at a better integration of supply and demand side, while covering all the end users sectors.

The main objectives of the Journal are:

to promote integrated energy solutions for a better environment;
to contribute to a sustainable energy economy;
to provide a framework for the discussion of change in world-wide energy systems;
to promote the dissemination of new energy technologies appropriate to developing countries within the global market.

The Journal constitutes a forum for discussion of emerging issues in energy such as: the potential of hydrogen and fuel cells for electric power, heating and cooling, the alternatives to produce hydrogen from reforming of fossil fuels or renewable energies, the micro-power revolution, the technological advancements on clean combustion, the challenges of the sustainable energy development of developing countries, and the rational use of energy in end users sectors, such as industry, buildings, agriculture and transports. Particular attention is devoted to the environment and social aspect of the renewable technologies and the integration of renewables with energy efficiency considered together in a policy context, in connection with policies on climate change, as well as on security of supply and completion of internal market for energy, employment and industrial competitiveness.
