Alster ABSTRACT Some peculiarities of long-term storage of Phaeodactylum tricornutum Bohl. (Chrysophyta) cultures used in biotesting of seawater are discussed. Methods of cultivation on agarized media are described. The authors propose the optimal regime of dark pre-incubation of cultures with a short photoperiod, which allow prolonging culture's viability up to 30-40 days.
