ABSTRACT

Problems in the methodology for using an algotest with Phaeodactylum tricornutum Bohl. (Chrysophyta) and the possibilities to expand the range of its application are discussed. The paper proposes a toxicity scale of the tested medium with algal growth indicators. Some results of the experimental evaluation of the marine medium toxicity in the northwestern Black Sea shelf are presented.
