The action of potassium bichromate in concentrations up to 10 mg/L on the laboratory culture of Scenedesmus quadricauda (Turp.) Breb. was studied under standard conditions. The cells which survived after 30-day exposure retained their reproductability and in due course restored the culture in its total number and share of living cells. The culture exposed to a low concentration (1 mg/L) aquired enhanced resistance to higher toxicant concentrations.
