The species composition of centric diatoms has been investigated in the southern part of the Courland Lagoon of the Baltic Sea. A total of 29 species and varieties of diatoms were discovered including 12 new for the Courland Lagoon, the Baltic Sea, and Kaliningrad Region. The list of species for the Courland Lagoon was reduced to 7 taxa because some species, varieties, and forms were changed to synonyms.
