Effects of detergent on chlorophyll a content and quantity dynamics of microalga Chroomonas salina (Wils.) Butch. (Cryptophyta)

ABSTRACT
The effects of household synthetic abstergent (HSA) «Tix» on growth characteristics and change of chlorophyll a concentrations in a cryptophytic alga Chroomonas salina (Wils.) Butch. (Cryptophyta) were studied Low HSA concentrations (0.05; 0.1 and 1.0 mg/L) proved to stimulate algal growth and not to affect chlorophyll a content in cells. Cell growth and fission inhibition, as well as morphological changes and blocking of chlorophyll a synthesis, were recorded at 10 mg/L concentration.
