Vegetative cells of Scrippsiella crystallina Lewis dinoflagellata were obtained from germinating dinoflagellata cysts on surface sediments collected in different seasons of 1999-2001 in littoral waters of Far-Eastern seas of Russia. This was the first find of this species in Russian seas. This paper provides morphological descriptions of cysts and vegetative cells, as well as information on geographic distribution of the species.
