The paper deals with the results of qualitative and quantitative studies of the carbohydrate containing fractions from algae Spirulina platensis (Nordst.) Geitl. strain CALU-835 and Porphyridium cruentum Nag. strain CNM-AR 01. The basic mass of carbohydrates from the studied fractions is shown to consist of gelatinous sutfur-contaning polysaccharides.
