Mitrofanova ABSTRACT Results of the study of phytoplankton in the pelagic of Teletskoye Lake at the Yaylyu station in June-September 1989 are presented. Peculiarities of the seasonal and vertical distribution of algae are discussed. Representatives of Bacillariophyta and Cryptophyta were found to play a leading role in phytoplankton. Low indices of phytoplankton diversity (158 species, including 61 planktonic), numbers (23.0-513.8 thousand cells per liter), and biomass (0.008-0.0488 mg/L) and poor representation of green and blue-green algae testify to the oligotrophic character of Teletskoye Lake.
