Revision of the genus Achnanthes Bory s. lato (Bacillariophyta). 2. New monosutural genera and the key for their identification

ABSTRACT
In the second part of a review the diagnoses of the newly described genera Psammothidium Bukhtiyarova et F.E. Round, Rossithidium Round et Bukhtiyarova, Planothidium Round et Bukhtiyarova, Lemnicola F.E. Round et Basson, Pauliella F.E. Round et Basson, Karayevia Round et Bukhtiyarova, Astartiella Witkowski, Lange-Bertalot, Metzeltin, Vikingea Witkowski, Lange-Bertalot, Metzeltin are given. These genera were separated from the genus Achnanthes Bory s. lato on the basis of SEM studies. A list of taxonomic combinations within these genera is presented as well. Descriptions were composed according to the unified plan and supplemented by corrected and new features lacking in protologues. For identification of monosuture genera the first key considering data of both LEM and TEM studies wasdescribed. Three new taxonomic combinations are validated, and two new combinations are proposed.
