ABSTRACT
Numerical investigation of thermal convection in a cube on the base of 3D Navier-Stokes equations in both primitive variables and vorticity -vector potential formulation is presented. The goal of this paper is to invite interested researchers to partake in a comparison exercise to compute convection of air in a cubical enclosure, which is heated differently at two vertical side walls. This problem provides an excellent test of numerical methods and computer codes being used for the calculation of viscous convective flows. The comparison of the calculated average and local flow and heat transfer characteristics with those presented in the literature is conducted.
