    ABSTRACT

    A new combined Monte Carlo and R-functions technique for computer calculation of the radiation view factor is proposed. This technique allows to reduce a computer run time and to improve accuracy in the radiation transfer problems. The prediction accuracy of Monte Carlo-based techniques depends considerably on representation of the boundary geometrical details. It is essential for the complex geometry problems when blocking objects are presented. In present paper we use R-functions (Rvachev functions) for construction of the complex geometrical bodies and to describe the geometric information. Based on the ideas of R-functions theory we can make the judgements about such characteristics of a geometric body as the curvature of its surface and the direction of the normal vector at the arbitrary point of the boundary surface. This approach was implemented in a 2-D computer program to calculate the radiation view factors of complex geometrical objects. This domestic program includes the set of subroutines and realises the R-operations for describing the complex geometrical objects. To demonstrate the usefulness of this technique we have this computer program for the calculation of view factors in the following two-dimensional problems:
    — internal radiation problem with complex geometrical black surfaces;
    — a heated tube bundle with black and specular surfaces.
    The alternative solutions exist for mentioned problems and comparisons of the numerical results with alternative solutions were found satisfactory.
