THE EFFECT OF MASS FLOW RATE ON FLOW BEHAVIOUR IN A CENTRIFUGAL IMPELLER PASSAGE

Abstract

In this paper, some experimental results are presented to observe the effects of mass flow rate on flow behaviour in the Impeller passsage of a high speed centrifugal compressor. Flow velocities at various planes within the Impeller passage were obtained using laser anemometry. It is found that changes In mass flow rate clearly affect the flow behaviour as the flow develops from the Inlet to the exit of the Impeller passage.
