Abstract

The paper is focused on study of heat transfer into parallel- and counter-flow triple torch electric arc reactors with air plasma temperature T = 3400-5800 K under processing of sprayed nitrate solutions at ranges of energetic criterion KEN = 1.3-12.5 and enthalpy factor Hgpi/Hw = 21-55. The generalized dependencies for heat transfer with wall and material processed into reactor's mixing chamber and cylinder channel (zone length xz ≤ 7 diameters) are established. The reactors with solution injection are out-performed of similar ones for powder processing on the level of fraction of plasma flow power transferred to material processed (Qp /N1 = 0.3-0.7) and are suitable for use in fine oxide materials production.
