Abstract

The investigation results of some pulse plasma generators (PG), which had been developed at the IPE RAS, are discussed in this paper. Some questions connected with the design of PG main units and their reliability are considered. The main operating regimes of PG discharge chamber at initial hydrogen pressures up to 40 MPa and current up to 2 MA are presented. The heat transfer efficiency from the electric arc to gas, are analyzed and the operating characteristics deduced. Main parameters of devices designed on base of PG, for example hypervelocity launchers, are presented.
