Abstract

The striven gas velocities in plasma torch reactors are comparable high. This results in retention times of some milliseconds and so fluctuations of process energy released in the considered time range can influence the synthesis process in the following way. Product yield fluctuations appear and toxic waste may be partially converted to nanogramms of a residual of harmful substances. This leads to a break of permitted limits and endangers the application of the complete procedure. Therefore for the combustion of toxic waste a constant energy release into the plasma torch reactor is essential.
