Abstract

In the paper different modes of heat transfer through thermal insulation are discussed in detail and a method for calculation radiative and conductive components of the heat flux is proposed. Variations of radiative and conductive shares in heat transfer accross insulation layer arc presented and influence of such factors as conduction radiation parameter N, albedo ω0 and emissivity εA of the bounding walls on these variations is shown. Subsequently the thickness effect curve is explained and dependence of the apparent thermal conductivity on insulation thickness, and parameters N, εA is presented.
