IMPLEMENTATION OF DECENTRALIZED AND COLLABORATIVE PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

Due to current trends towards flatter organisational structures and (globally) distribtuted production the necessity of decentralized and collaborative production management is increasing and will become more and more complex. In this situation the ESPRIT project DECOR has specified a framework for distributed intra- and interorganizational production management. Additionally, a general information system concept which designs, supports and co-ordinates multi-level, distributed and autonomous decision-making systems was developed. The demonstration of the DECOR framework is based on two prototype implementations.
