Abstrakt

Suspension Plasma Spraying (SPS) was tested concerning its suitability for the production of coarse spherical powders. Suspensions of fine or ultrafine powders of hydroxyapatite, cobalt spinel and Al-Ni-Mo alloy were prepared. By the variation of the suspension liquid phase, the percentage of powder which is correlated to the viscosity of the suspension, and several plasma spray parameters, suitable conditions for the preparation of spherical particles could have been approached. This work describes the influence of the composition of the precursor suspension and of the plasma spray conditions on the morphology and phase content of the particles obtained.
