This paper presents the results of a calculation procedure proposed for the design and analysis of small radial gas turbines. The proposed procedure utilizes one dimensional formulation to evaluate the global properties of the gas flow.
By using a segmentation technique and a step-by-step calculation scheme it is possible to determinate the gas local flow properties, the flow passage geometry, the power losses, the useful power and the overall efficiency. The influence of varying of some geometrical parameters and the inlet stagnation pressure and temperature on the efficiency and the useful power are presented and discussed.
