Spectral Similarity Between Small Scale Turbulent Temperature and Velocity Fluctuations

A similarity is proposed between the vorticity spectrum and the temperature dissipation spectrum. Support for this is provided by direct numerical simulation (DNS) data on the centreline of a fully developed turbulent channel flow. When the spectra are normalised to an area of unity, the similarity is adequate, although not as good as that proposed earlier between turbulent energy and temperature spectra.
