Abstrakt

Design and analysis of an solar-powered domestic scale electric generation power unit, by utilizing Rankine cycle with organic working fluid, are performed. The technically matured and commercially available Parabolic Trough Collector (PTC) is used to track, concentrate and collect the normal incident solar radiation. Actual meteorological data are used to perform a rough evaluation of the power generating capability of the system. It is concluded that such a domestic scale solar-thermal power generation system is feasible to be an alternative home energy source.
