Abstrakt

The Pade approximation (approximation by a rational function) has been used to describe the skeleton table data of 1984 on the specific enthalpy and volume of water and steam at saturation over entire range and in the single phase regions up to 22.5 MPa. The results are simple rational functions fitting the data within their tolerance limits and are suitable for fast computing. The method can help to analyse the input data for tables for their smoothness or to indicate erroneous values. The method presented can be used to derive the full set of simple functions for fast computing of all thermophysical properties.
