Abstrakt

The simulation of emission and absorption phenomena, taking into account Doppler, collisional, and Stark broadening and shift has been utilized to validate the spectroscopic investigation of the metallic species concentration distributions in a plasma spraying process. This simulation has been first applied to choose the measurements lines according to their spectroscopic characteristics, the range of temperature and concentrations to be monitored; and second to validate the distributions deduced from the experimental results. This protocol has also been used to investigate the accuracy of the temperature and number density distributions derived from spectroscopic measurements. It also allows to evaluate the diffusion coefficients for Co and Fe materials in argon-hydrogen plasmas.
