The effect of degeneration in the thermodynamics of binary salt mixtures

Abstrakt

A model of ionic mixture, which takes into account the possibility of some ions degenerate states, is proposed. Degeneration removal in such ions is related to random fields, which are caused by topological disorder of ionic melts. Both the boundaries of phase instabilities with respect to the miscibility and the thermodynamics of homogeneous liquid mixture turned out to be very sensitive to the concentration dependence of the random fields dispersion. The results of our estimations for the miscibility gap (where possible) and the thermodynamics of mixing for two classes of mixtures with the degenerate sort of ions in one and in both components are presented and discussed.
