Abstract

The purpose of this investigation is to carry out the effect of the fuel injection parameters on the combustion performance and exhaust emissions in direct injection type diesel engine. The cycle conditions and fuel injection parameters of diesel engine play an important role in the engine combustion process and exhaust emissions. In order to obtain the effect of injection parameters on the combustion performance and exhaust emission of diesel engine, the experiment was conducted with the single cylinder direct injection type diesel engine with auxiliary chamber. The results showed that the auxiliary chamber at different fuel injection pressure and intake airflow were reduced exhaust emission and improvement of the engine performance. It was found that the increase of fuel injection pressure increased the cylinder pressure, gas temperature and reduction of exhaust emissions.
