Abstract
The transient behavior of a two—phase thermosyphon during start up operation is studied analytically. A classical perturbation technique is applied to the input flow rate, source and sink temperatures in the governing equations yielding the transfer functions for the evaporator and condenser pressures in the loop. Pressure and mass flow history during start up is deduced. Model verification is obtained by using an experimental start up operation data utilizing R-ll as the working fluid.
