Abstract
In this paper, we use a semi-implicit control volume technique and modified volume tracking algorithm to investigate mumerically the motion of a viscous bubble towards a air-fluid interface. The solution includes large deformation and the bursting of bubbles through an interface for 10 ≤ Re ≤ 50 and 5 ≤ Bo ≤ 50. The density and the viscosity ratios are 40. The effect on the viscosity and surface tension variations as well as the cylinder wall have been studied.
