TRANSIENT ANALYSIS OF HEAT PIPES

Abstract

A complete mathematical formulation for heat pipe startup from frozen state and transient continuum performances are presented. The mathematical model was simplified and solved numerically for different transient periods. The numerical results were compared with existing experimental data in the literature with good agreement, indicating that significant progress has been made in the numerical modeling of heat pipe dynamics.
