Abstract
In the operating temperature range of 300-500°C, mercury has attractive thermodynamic properties and a "figure of merit". This paper presents some test results of a chemical reactor made up of seven mercury heat pipes.
The reactor has been in operation at a chemical factory for eight months. It is found that the mercury heat pipe has an excellent isothermal and operating performance. Por the endothermal chemical reactor, the heat pipe reactor is feasible, stable and reliable.
