MODELING OF HEAT TRANSFER IN A GAS-SOLID BED

Abstract

A Lagrangian simulation for particle motion and heat transfer in a turbulent field is provided. The effect of interparticle heat transfer in the bed is studied. The results show that the contribution of particle heat conduction to heat transfer is important in fluidized bed at presence of random velocities. This contribution depends on the gas temperature, velocity and particle material, size and the ratio of hot to cold particle temperatures.
