ATOMIZATION CHARACTERISTICS OF CAPILLARY LIQUID INJECTION INSIDE A VENTURI TUBE
DOI: 10.1615/ICLASS-94.830
pages 648-655
Abstract
This paper describes the experimental characteristics of atomization and dispersion of capillary liquid jet in a coflowing air stream inside either a venturi tube or a straight tube. The Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF) images displayed the development and interaction of the airblast capillary liquid jets with surrounding air flow, which is of great importance for the evaluation of Lean Premixed Prevaporized (LPP) nozzle performance. The advantages of venturi tube nozzle as a potential candidate for LPP fuel mixing system were either revealed or confirmed in the paper in terms of better atomization, more uniform fuel air distribution and less pressure drop.
