Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review some aspects of the computational study of the flow initiated by natural convection with which I have been associated over a period of over 30 years, including some interesting and, perhaps, unexpected phenomena exhibited by such flows. During this time, I have had the privilege of working with a number of stimulating and inventive colleagues and students. To those whose names are mentioned, and to the others whose names perforce are omitted, I offer my tributes and appreciation.
