Abstract
Heat pump and solar collector system with thermal energy storage unit were combined to utilize solar energy efficiently at low temperature (10-50°C). CaCI2.6H20 was used as a thermal energy storage medium and water also used as a working liquid between storage tank and collectors. The performance of the system at different heat source temperatures for residential heating in Trabzon, was investigated both experimentally and theoretically.
