Abstract
The paper describes the recent work carried out in our laboratory, in the field of sodium and lithium heat pipes with high parietal evaporator heat flux. Heat pipes performances are presented, for both thermosyphon and capillary structure modes. The technological and metallurgical problems encountered in the development of refractory metals used as envelope in lithium devices are discussed.
