NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF THE TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER WITH SURFACE MASS TRANSFER

Abstract

In the present study, the characteristics of the turbulent boundary layer developing on a porous wall with different angles of blowing have been numerically analysed, based on the finite volume method for solving the time averaged Navier-Stokes equations for an incompressible flow using the k-ε turbulence model. The results show that the boundary layer is substantially influenced by the velocity of blowing at high blowing angles, while the parameters are to be independent of velocity of blowing at low blowing angles.
