Abstract

The concurrent engineering process demands new capabilities from integrated design systems. In the future, no longer will data-driven only integration solutions be acceptable. Instead, strategic control aspects will have to be taken into account as well. This paper provides an approach based on Fuzzy Logic for the control of integrated design agents. The focus is on the definition of suitable fuzzy sets and rules for control. The concept is being realized using the blackboard-based paradigm as a framework for the system implementation.
