Abstract

This paper describes the plasma-based mobile drug destruction system with a productivity of 150 kg/hr. Technical requirements and hookup specifications are discussed. General layout of the system is shown. The choice of the AC PlasmatronTM as an ignition source to initiate destruction of organic compounds is explained. The high temperature reactor and its reaction zones are discussed. Specifics of material handling, ash removal and exhaust gas treatment subsystems are presented.
