TEMPERATURE AND THERMAL STRESS FIELDS IN HETEROGENEOUS BODIES WITH SMALL SECOND-PHASE PARTICLE

Abstract
The temperature and thermal stress fields in heterogeneous bodies are examined. The heterogeneous body considers a small second-phese spherical inclusion centrally located in a cylindrical main domain with different thermophysical and mechanical proterties. Boundary conditions of the third kind are imposed on the upper and lower surfaces of the main domain. There also exists an imperfect contact at the main domain-inclusion interface. It is shown that both the thermal resistance and imposed boundary conditions have significant effect on the temperature and thermal stress fields in a heterogeneous body. These effects are illustrated through two numerical examples.
