Abstract

Pool boiling and evaporation heat transfer of propane on cylindrical surfaces with stainless steel sprayed and sintered copper powder porous coatings experimentally analyzed at the heal flux ranges 102 to 105 W/m2. Evaporative heal transfer of propane on the same porous cylindrical surfaces with capillary suction was determined to compare with the pool boiling intensity. It depends on permeability, porosity, thermal conductivity of the capillary-porous structure and in some cases is 2−3 times higher than pool boiling heal transfer for the same heat flux interval.
