The excitation of the vortex ring oscillations at the pulse interaction with a rigid obstacle (streamlining of a thin cylinder of 0.3 cm diameter) is presented in the movie. The process of the vortex ring response to the collision with the cylinder is registered through the interferometer by means of a high-speed video camera having a maximum shooting speed equal to 3000 frames per second. The visualization presented provides the physical interpretation of the acoustic peculiarities of the interaction between the toroidal vortex and the obstacle.
