Sinopsis

An analytical solution to the fully-developed flow in a rectangular channel of finite height-to-width ratio bounded on one side by a saturated porous medium is presented. The slip boundary condition at the interface between the porous medium and the fluid is considered. The solution is compared to the parallel-plate model and is used to calculate design parameters for building experimental setup that permits direct measurement of the velocity slip and observation of the slip phenomena at the surface of packed-beds of spherical particles.
