Sinopsis
A solar assisted heat pump system, in which collectors (panels)bonded with the photovoltaic modules on the surfaces were used as the evaporator for the refrigerant and as the array for photovoltaic power generation, was constructed and operated under various experimental conditions. The rated capacity of the compressor was 250 W and the total area of the panels was 3.4 m2. The electrical conversion efficiency of the panels was about 9%. The system was able to use solar energy effectively, generating electric power of about 280 W at the maximum and converting the solar energy and the heat of the ambient air to useful heat for hot water supply with high coefficient of performance.
