COUPLED MAP LATTICE MODEL FOR BOILING

Sinopsis

The dynamics of boiling is known to show the transition from nucleate to film boiling. More than two centuries ago, Liendenfrost noted the fact that a droplet evaporates slowly on a very hot metal plate; the rate of vaporization is much lower than those occurring at smaller temperature differences between the hot plate and the droplet. This behavior is the result of the thermally insulating action on a thin vapor layer between the plate and the liquid. Others have characterized this boiling transition experimentally, presenting the so-called boiling characteristic curve. Nukiyama measured the temperature of heater as a function of the heat flux fed into the system.
