Sinopsis
In this study, we have developed the threedimensional two-phase flow code with unequal spacing taking into account of gravity and surface tension effects, as well. The level set method is used to capture the liquid-gas interface. The bubble growth and detachment in a micro gravity shear flow are simulated using the present code. The gas is injected through a small opening into liquid. We have succeeded in simulating a bubble detachment. The results are compared with experimental data and are qualitatively in good agreement with experimental data. The bubble growth and detachment are significantly affected by the gravity and surface tension.
