HIGH VOLTAGE DISCHARGE (UP TO 2kW) BETWEEN TWO FLUIDS

Sinopsis
The results of the researches of the direct current electric discharge between 2 fluids
are presented here. One of the fluids is supplied on the surface of interelectrode insertion
made of porous dielectric, placed over an electrolyte bath with another fluid. The discharge
burned at atmosphere pressure. As a fluid technical water from the city water-supply was
used. The current changed within the limits 0,05...1,5 amperes, and the discharge interval
from 5·10−3 to 25·10−3 m. The discharge voltage assumed 1...2,5 kW.
The discharge has multichannel structure. Volt-ampere characteristic of the discharge is slightly increasing. With increasing current the discharge field widens and changes its colour. The discharge properties greatly depend on fluid expenditure, which is supplied on the surface of the porous insertion.
