Sinopsis
Pressure drop data from tests conducted by SENIOR Engineering Co in early 1985 is presented here. The tests were performed on an ideal finned tube bank with staggered equilateral tube layout and 1.25 pitch-to-diameter ratio. The bundle contained ¾ in. (0.0191 m) integral low-finned tubes with 27 fins per inch (1,063 fins/m). The geometrical arrangement consisted of 20 rows in flow direction with interchanging 8 or 9 full tubes per row. A friction factor correlation was developed and has been used successfully since then. This correlation has been compared here with some open literature correlations available.
