Sinopsis

We have developed a high-temperature sodium heat pipe with an operating temperature range of over 500°C, excellent isothermic properties and a large heat transfer capacity, all of which have been confirmed in an independent performance test.
In promoting this sodium heat pipe for practical use, it is necessary to investigate the performance and thermal behavior characteristics in assembly with the heat exchanger.
In the present experiment, a test apparatus capable of generating combustion waste gas at a maximum temperature of 800°C was fabricated, and a performance evaluation test of the test apparatus of the heat exchanger using sodium heat pipe for high temperature use was performed. This test apparatus has 24 sodium heat-pipes with fins, measuring 25.4 mm in outside diameter and 1 m in length, and is expected to have a heat exchange capacity of 29.300 kcal/h between waste gas of 800°C, 500 Nm3/h and air of 30°C, 250 Nm3/h.
